Schell Games’ HistoryMaker VR is coming just in time for pandemic distance learning →

COVID-19 abruptly ended the 2019-2020 school year and many were confused on how to approach remote learning. Despite several months social distancing, the United States is still at a loss for how to approach the 2020-2021 school year.

Kim Diaz from Checkersaga declared that “video calls can be a solution, but in the medium term they become monotonous and boring. Why not a history class in virtual reality?” That’s where HistoryMaker VR takes the stage.

Diaz wrote her thoughts about the tool, noting that HistoryMaker VR is “much more attractive than watching a video with the teacher’s face for an hour.”

The tool, which is playable on the Oculus Rift/Rift S, will be available to educators at no cost and retail for $9.99 USD on Steam for history and VR enthusiasts, in an effort to bring this experience to a wide range of people at an affordable price point.
